After my round at Orange County National’s Tooth Course, I backtracked a bit to Orange Lake Resort. The resort has 54 holes (two eighteen-hole and two nine-hole courses) and I was interested in playing the lighted Legends Walk Course, one of the nine-hole options here.
In case you are counting, this was the third round of night golf that I’ve played this year. Needless to say, I’m hooked! And, I ended up having a blast at Legends Walk, just like I did the other two times. I got there just after the sun set, which led to some awesome colors in the sky!
Obviously, the headline about my round here was the uniqueness of golfing at night. The normal night challenges of guessing lies and reading greens still remained, although there was another unique twist to golfing at night. I got lost!

After playing the 6th hole, I ended up playing the 9th hole by mistake. There was a sign pointing me to the other side of a road (through some condos) and I just assumed I was in the right spot. Thankfully, the 7th and 8th holes were nearby, so it wasn’t any trouble to go back and play them.
Other than the potentially tricky routing, Legends Walk is a great par-3 course. The course features nine par-3’s, ranging from 120 to 222 yards and tops out at 1,581 yards. The scorecard has a rating of 30.0 and a slope of 106, so it isn’t exactly easy!
Some lengthy holes, elaborate bunkering and small greens make the course difficult. The 2nd, 3rd and 4th holes are all between 193 and 222 yards! The greens angle and slide in different directions, making them tough to hit.

Arnold Palmer designed the course so you’ll get his signature bunkering here. The bunkers are massive, deep and add to the look of Legends Walk! Sticking with the Palmer theme, you’ll find tee markers with some Palmer trivia on them.
Conditions were fantastic and worth the $20 walking rate. The greens were excellent surfaces and rolled great. I think the greens were painted. The tees had a full overseed.
Legends Walk would be a solid par-3 course during the day. However, the night experience turned it into one of my personal favorite nine-holers! If you are looking for a course that offers plenty of fun, then Legends Walk will be a good pick.
